Spilsbury's New Fall Catalog

Gift and puzzle retailer Spilsbury has shipped its new Fall catalog!  They're even giving away a free jigsaw puzzle with your purchase!  Their latest book offers over 100 brand new jigsaw puzzles not previously sold by Spilsbury - piece counts ranging from 300 to over 1000 pieces.  If you aren't on their mailing list you can request a catalog here.  The puzzle featured on the cover of their Fall catalog is called All Hallow's Eve by artist Carol Newsom.  You can order it here.

Jigsaw puzzle retailers Bits and Pieces and Spilsbury have announced their top selling jigsaw puzzles of 2012 (thus far). Shaped puzzles are in the lead this year for both companies.

For Bits and Pieces, it's the Alan Giana designed Birdbath Garden, a 750 piece shaped puzzle. The 750 piece version is currently out of stock, but you can still pick up the 300 piece version.

Spilsbury reports that Spring Break, a 1,000 piece shaped puzzle designed by Mary Thompson is its best seller. The puzzle is currently in stock.  Spilsbury also offers Thompson's similarly themed Lakeside Lane Cottage.

Have you ever challenged yourself with a jigsaw puzzle drawn by Jan van Haasteren?  The Dutch cartoonist's humorous images are easily recognizable for being especially crowded and detailed.  Jan's drawings have appeared as jigsaw puzzles since 1985 when he started collaborating with Jumbo, the game company headquartered in his native Holland.  Some of the puzzles are extra difficult because they're sold in piece counts of 1500, 2000 and even 3000 pieces!

Bits and Pieces offers a number of Jan van Haasteren puzzles, including The Farm, a 1500 Piece Large Format Jigsaw Puzzle:

Spilsbury Web Site Increases Image Sizes

Jigsaw puzzle and gift retailer Spilsbury has modified its web site design to show larger product images to online shoppers.  Site visitors formerly saw product images at a resolution of 250 square pixels, but images are now automatically displayed at 400 square pixels (a whopping 156% increase in detail!), and shoppers can even click their way to an even larger (500 pixel) display of the item.

Spilsbury product images are now 60% larger online.

Can't resist the loveable puppies in the image above?  This 300 large-piece jigsaw, Picnic Time, designed by artist Tom Wood, is currently one of Spilsbury's top sellers.  The puzzle measures 18" x 24" -- shoppers can also pick up a Puzzle Framing Kit to display their finished work.

Top Selling Puzzles of the 2012 Winter Season

Spilsbury's Top Selling Puzzles of 2011

Catalog and online retailer Spilsbury, known for jigsaw puzzles, gag gifts, gadgets, toys, games and other fun items, has reported its top selling jigsaw puzzles of 2011. Coming in at #1 is a 1,000 piece shaped Fall leaf puzzle designed by artist Lori Schory.

Other best selling puzzles include this bird-themed Lilac Lane, a 300 piece puzzle with oversized pieces (making them easier to see and handle), by artist Janene Grende.

Spilsbury noted that Linda Jane Smith's Purrfect Christmas, the 1,000 piece Christmas themed cat puzzle that graced the cover of its holiday catalog, was also a top seller.
